Located at the main entrance of Joshua Tree National Park, this high desert community named Joshua Tree welcomes visitors with all the modern conveniences (food, shopping, gasoline) before they venture into the neighboring desert park. The remote landscape, giant boulders and odd trees attract millions of visitors, especially on holiday weekends. Most of the park campgrounds are on a first come, first serve basis, so an early daytime arrival is key.
