APACHE CANYON
This campground is way the heck out in the middle of nowhere & may be frequented by the off-roader enthusiasts, especially on the weekends. During the week, you will be lucky to see anyone out here. An OHV trail leads north to Toad Springs Campground, which is located near the vicinty of Mt. Abel & Mt. Pinos.

Dirt Rd # 8N06 on Apache Cyn. is a turn off from Hwy.33

Apache Canyon or forest service rd # 8N06 goes out into a secluded areas 10 miles to the campground.

In springtime, the area roads bloom with a carpet of small yellow wildflowers. Perfect for picnic spots, many dirt side roads splinter off the main road of Apache Cyn.

The drive out to Neddle Springs is the best part. Pinyon Pine forest along a creekbed, ranchland meadows, sandstone cliffs & multiple wash crossings make this a fun 10 miles

This road is signed for 4WD only vehicles, but there is only a few spots which this may be required. Wet or sandy washes may be a problem for an inexperienced driver, but I made it fine in my 2WD high clearance vehicle.
Please respect the private lands along this road & help keep the cattle in their place. Close the gate along the backroads!
