The San Emigdio mountain range sits directly on the San Andreas fault line. This nice forested photo is of the toxic smog layers below in the California Central Valley, as seen from the hills above Bakersfield (or shall we say "Bako", as the locals like to call it). From this 4x4 ridge line, on very rare occasions, you can clearly see the Sierra Nevada & Mount Whitney, 150 miles away. Kinda wonder what the 'great valley' looked like before we started polluting it.
