Located nearly in the center of the golden state, Fresno ranks up there with Oakland as most dangerous cities in California. Fresno is also one of the most polluted cities in America. So with that being said, it may be okay for an overnight stay, gasoline and grocery stop, but don't plan to hang out here for your fresh-air seeking outdoorsy vacation. You may only want to pass thru this place, if at all. Lots of crime, cops, gangs, drugs, homeless here, so consider yourself warned: Fresno is not a desirable California destination.
