Located right on the Upper Kern River, the quaint "Road's End Lodge" had a number of cute cottages, painted green with river rock accents. Lush vegetation overhung the Sierra Hwy w/ plenty parking on both sides of the road. The small market & burger stand were open most weekends, but all is lost to the devastating wildfire that ripped through this Kern canyon in mid-2002.
