William Randolph Hearst built this mansion on the hill, in the middle of the Central Coast wilderness to entertained family & friends. The castle nicknamed "Camp Hill" - the idea of roughing it was obviously a foreign concept to these aristocrats. Another name is La Cuesta Encantada, which in Spanish is The Enchanted Hill.
