Camping is a blast! Enjoy nature, sleep under the stars, exercise & save money vacationing. During college I became interested in camping as an inexpensive form of entertainment, and a cool way to do my homework in some really neat places. I attempted backpacking several times but due to time constraints, I was unable to really get out there and enjoy myself. I opted instead for remote car camping in primitive areas. I love exploring dirt roads for secluded spots and small campgrounds. The average weekend trip can run you as little as $60.00. This includes fuel, groceries, firewood and even park entrance fees. Once purchased; basic camping gear - tent, sleeping bag and 2-burner stove can last you decades if properly cared for.
