A Living Ghost Town
Limited facilities
|
| Seclusion! This is a very unique little mining town with plenty of space for relaxing & getting away from it all. It may be mistaken for the nearby ghost town of Garlock at first glance. Tumble weeds often somersault through the center of town. A very hilly area in the Mojave desert, it offers original & rural scenery. Be careful hiking around old mine shafts. Sight-see around town that has plenty of delapidated old structures. A few people do live in this town, so don't enter any buildings unless invited in. Just like the rough appearance, the weather here can be also. High winds, summers scorching heat, strong rains & chilly nights are common. Located "on the way" to many destinations, such as Death Valley, June Lake, Mammoth & Tahoe. |
