The Eastern Sierra region has been long known for it's extensive collection of indian Petroglyphs. Many indians claim that the writings on the rocks preceeded them & were created by Shamens.
Sad but True: Some petroglyphs may be marred by graffiti or worse yet, some idiots trying to chisel them off. Keep our California history alive & do not remove any arrowheads, baskets, pottery or other artifacts from the lands you visit. Leave them for others to enjoy. Simply report them & their location to the Museum at Independence.
