This Southern Sierra cabin community is set amongst tall cedars & minimal sunlight. A canopy of vegetation is above & this is when you know you are not in Kernville anymore. This place has a magical & majestic feel with granite outcroppings & steep manzanita hills with big boulders. Wildfire danger is every year here. A gorgeous rural restaurant serves locals & tourists, but they do get busy, so be patient. Snowy winters are common.

Towering cedar forest and cabin community in the Southern Sierra Nevada. Mostly residential, many full timers. A perfect high elevation escape in the brutal BAKO summer heat. Better air quality too. Alta Sierra is spread out all over the forest, with creeks, one lane bridges, and curvy roads. It sports one really nice restaurant that has become an icon in the area. A small family ski resort, dirt road access into Sequoia National Forest, plus bunch of trails and campgrounds. Mountain bike, or hiking, snowmo or snow shoeing.
