El Centro California & the entire Imperial Valley depend on it's agriculture. Underground geothermal activity in this region is used for producing electric power. Along Interstate 8 there are numerous primitive hot springs to enjoy, as well as sand dunes for off-road enthusiasts. Plenty desert camping all around this region.
