The first time I camped here I was in college and didn't know any better. The whole place kinda frightened me - it was so minimal and barren. Tecopa is not much of a town. The desert here has small rustic resorts, RV camping & mineral springs baths, along with triple digit summer heat. I visited during winter and stayed only one night. A dozen years or more later, I returned for a busy holiday weekend - to stay at one of the resorts (and I use that word loosely). Rooms were small, unkept, and expensive. I thought to myself - I would rather be lying on a sandy desert wash, camping out under the stars than to pay for this again. But, I have also met people who love this funky desert hot springs location. To each their own.

Very remote and rustic. This place is a sleepy, quiet haven for desert escapees w/ trailers & RVs, who wanna soak under the open starry skies.
