Blink & you may miss it. Panamint Springs CA is a tiny desert retreat: a restaurant & bar, with hotel behind it & RV campground across the street. Maybe gasoline (if your lucky). It is located on Hwy 190 (near the Panamint Valley Rd intersection) on the west end of Death Valley National Park. Panamint Valley is great for back roads exploring & old mines. Cerro Gordo & Ballarat are nearby ghost towns. Darwin Falls is a nearby hike & the south pass entrance to Saline Valley is just up the hill. Their annual free Thanksgiving meal is a popular tradition that attracts all kinds of desert travelers.
