hey litterbugs, get a clue PACK IT IN, PACK IT OUT:
Don't bring the city to the woods: If our California forests looks littered, damaged & graffittied, we are teaching our children little respect for the land and this will have detramental effects on our natural areas, for lifetimes to come. Teach by example. Keep garbage bags in your car at all times for litter removal. It will take only a few minutes of your time, but will show your appreciation for the earth. A family sledding day should end with this small signifcant task. Make sure you clean up all picnicing items, broken sleds, & soiled diapers. Don't trash California!
don't bring the trash to the forest
don't bring your noise to nature
don't bring the drama to the mountains
Places
to Ice Skate
Many, many places to Ice Skate in California, even with the moderate weather we have here on the west coast. Most places are within the confines of a urban area - indoor rink, but a few are out in the natural setting, such as Yosemite Village! Click here to see ALL California ICE SKATING RINKS
NOTE: Plastic sleds are not biodegradable magic toys. Please recycled if/when they break. Broken sleds and disks are not to be left in the forest, as litter for wildlife to look after, nor left on the roadside for the 'ranger' to pick up.

California WINTER: October-May. This well lit daylight work area is the optimum scenerio. Most likely you will be parked on a slant, maybe on a dirt road, at nightfall, while snowing & installing these w/ bare hands in chilly 30 mph wind. Bring work gloves. Do not attempt winter mountain driving in California without 4x4, AWD - or at bare minimum tire snow chains. Two sets for a 2WD passenger car is ideal.
